Trip to Amate House

As most of you know, the Teen Center is staffed each year by one or two Amate House volunteers. These volunteers work full time at the Teen Center while also living in an intentional faith-based community with eleven other roommates.  Since the Teen Center is in the same neighborhood as Amate South House, many of the other volunteers have the opportunity to visit and build relationships with the teens as well.   Last month the girls and guys groups that meet with Dave and Mackensey on Tuesday nights were invited to the Amate House to make dinner and get to know the other volunteers even more.  Manny, one of our other young adult volunteers, made an amazing authentic Mexican meal, which everyone enjoyed.  The evening was a special time full of laughter and bonding time for both the teens and the volunteers.
